Awhile back, I had a streak of dating Jewish boys. Being a gentile myself, there was no rhyme or reason, nor was it premeditated, but there it was. A Jewish roommate of mine coined a phrase, “God’s chosen people. Anna’s, too.” Somewhere in my subconscious, I think it was all about the food. I was secretly hoping that I’d have reason to move to Israel and inherit a mother-in-law who would stuff me full of food like what can be found at Zahav. While I never got to move to the Holy Land, there is finally a place where I am promised to get my fill of unbelievable Sephardic fare and flavor.
